# 2 Fashion Trend Report

"Autumn/winter 2012/13 is about clashing cultures, aesthetics and lifestyles that fuse at the point of impact. Opposites really do attract."

Hyperculture, Radical Neutrality, and Eco Hinduism are three concepts that are very different from each other. Somehow in 2012 these concepts will be combined into one and produce a new trend that will be viewed in shows, sold in stores, and worn by the public.

The color forecast for A/W 2012 consists of very pale or almost white colors, plus some brighter shades of blue/greens and red/oranges.

I believe the key item for Fall 2012 will be a chunky, knit,  "circular" sweater that looks simple from far away, but up close it has intricate sewing details with different color threads. This American Apparel sweater is an example, but it would be thicker, more structure, and fitted.

We see this style of low in the back and high in the front in the "high-low" skirts that have flew off the shelves during the 60% off sale at LF. Also, I've worked in a dress boutique for over 2 years and during the 2011 formal season the "high-low" dresses were the new trend for prom. This sweater mimics these skirts and dresses once you put the circle shaped sweater on.

  1. I totally agree with your prediction! The idea of the chunky sweater is a great prediction. I think this will be a key item in Fall 2012 and the theme of culture clashing could be a definite trend!
